What happens once I register with Dungannon Sure Start

Registration normally takes place when our Midwife or Health Visitor first visits your home.  They will explain what Sure Start is about and agree how you would like to become involved.  If you are new to the area please contact us and we will arrange for someone to call with you.

How we can help parents

We work with parents-to-be and parents to improve children's life chances, through better access to:

Ø     Outreach and home visiting

Ø     Support for families and parents

Ø     Good quality play, learning and childcare experiences for children.

Ø     Primary care and health, including advice about child health and development.

Ø     Support for children and families with special needs, including access to specialised services.

In addition, there will be services around action on teenage pregnancy, crime prevention, community development and improvement to parents' employability.

Please provide some examples how your Sure Start project has helped families within your area.  If possible could you also provide quotes from your families.
